Hi .....
as you know .... UBBthreads have the option to encrypt the Password of the user ...... and i am developing a small chating application in VB to connect to the Mysql database ..

so far every thing going fine ..... from my application i can [ Add - Edit - View - Delete ] any record in the Database .......

and the testing of the application so far is good .... just i am facing problem to read the U_Password field from that application ..... coz when i enter the username & password .... it can validate the U_Username field ... but it give an "Wrong Password" error ... coz the password which in the database is crypted .... and i tried to change the password through Sql Admin interface ... and when i tried to login with that user which i changed his password .... every thing is working fine with me ....

now i have to choice ... ethier disable the encryption section ... so the password will be stored normaly ... or write an decryption code in VB to solve this problem ..... the the way how UBB encrypt the password is difficult ... and i need some help in how to do it first in PHP then i will try to convert it to VB .....

what i need is , can any one know how to write an PHP code to Decrypt the password again ?? that's will help me how the cryption can be readable again ....

for example ... if the cryptedd password is : 13befbs4dwq294s
i want that PHP code to return it to the normal one ....

thanks alot

you can't do that... it is a one way encryption. there is no decrypt function.

This is correct... unfortunate for going OUT from the db, to another db that needs them decrypted.

The way you do this is encrypt the password from your application using the same scheme as Threads. You can compare the encrypted passwords which should match. You are comparing the encrypted versions of the passwords instead of the plain text ones.
