Is there any way we could set deleted posts or threads to route to a specific admin only forum, so the admins could decide whether or not the deleted info needs to be saved.

We have 30 mods and thousands of members, so you can see how we have many issues.

I considered taking the delete function away from mods, but that would only mean much more work for the admins.

Any Ideas??? We are on UBBT 5.5.1 and will be on 6 as soon as it is released.

If you're deleting entire threads, then I'd suggest you make a 'Trash Can' forum, and tell your mods to move the threads to that forum, rather than deleting them.

Individual posts.. not so easy. Copy & paste is the only way outside hacking the code I can think of right away.

I just wish I could route the threads to our backup forum when they hit the delete button, because there isn't really anyway to know a message thread was even there unless you happened to see it yourself before it was deleted.

I want to trust the mods about everything, but you are always going to have people who are professionals of CYA.

Do you guys have the hack to turn off the moderator delete function but still let them edit???

we don't.

a "boneyard" type forum would be nice for a threads forum as you can make it to where only moderators and admins can even see that it's there and keeps the posts around in case it is needed at some point for "evidence" to uphold a banning, discipline, etc. It also keeps it around in case the particular moderator is over anxious and shouldn't have deleted it.. the thread can then be moved back to the public forums.
