Is there any way (Version 6) to have members of a specified group be able to upload, use the image tag etc. while other groups can not?

Not as far as I know. Usergroups controls othet things like board access, read/write issues. But not this.
You´d have to hack your way into this, as far as I know.
The upload based on usergroups sounds like an interesting idea to me.

The reason I want this is because I sell memberships that help support the site, so when someone joins I simply add them to the "member" group that I have created. I want to have more rights for members than users of course, so would be nice to allow members only picture upload and picture display in posts as well as avitars for members only.
Any hacks out there yet for version 6? I would think more people than just me would be in this same situation?

Eventually we can work on expanding the groups and permissions applied to them. I guess we should allow for some more flexibity on this.
