Ok - this one is very simple... but it's my first.
So I'll post as it may help someone else.

My users were missing the "attachment" link... as it's moved from the left to the top.

So this hack adds a clickable Disk Icon after the word "attachment" in showflat and showthreaded view.

Now.... if someone smarter than me could make that little icon appear before the subject in postlist... I'd be happy. I've been playing with it an haven't been able to get it to work (yet )

This affects showflat.php and showthreaded.php.

Also fyi: in the 601-Update the look of the area, where you want to place your code, changed a lot.

IIP 5.0 counts attachment hits.

Will be tossing in a "Top X Downloaded Files" list too.

Added a download script instead of directly linking to file attachments. This will make sure the user has read access to the board the attachment is posted on.

Added a download counter that will track the # of times an attachment has been downloaded. Altered the showflat/showthreaded templates to display this # next to the attachment link.


Sounds cool... this one might need to be adjusted for 6.1 (yeah, still a good way off in the future )

Cool, I missed that the first time I read it. I hope Rick uses a loop to download the file, rather than trying to slurp the whole file in at once.

This has been in Finished Mods here and updated for 6.1.
