I run a chamber of commerce. We are setting up a message board to be accessed by our members only (UBB.threads 6.0 br4). I would like to import our members from our database rather than entering by hand. Can someone provide assistance? Thanks much.
If I understand correctly, you are trying to import a set of members into your forum software you are setting up? Is this from a current forum software or something else? What type of database?
Thanks for your assistance. Our members are not currently in any forum. This is a new benefit for members. Our member database will be exported at a csv file to be used/manipulated for this purpose.
I don't know about any automated way of doing this with UBBThreads, but I work with databases often and would be happy to help you get this going. For starters, take a look at the MySQL function LOAD DATA INFILE, to see the syntax we'd be building. If the CSV didn't work too well, we could transmute it with Excel.
