A couple of months ago, a bunch of us agreed it would be great to be able to have a "marker" posting left when a moderator moves a thread, announcing (and linking) to the new thread location.

The feature would preferably be a choice defaulted to "off" (in case we're moving something obnoxious to an invisible purgatory board, etc), and we'd want the "marker" posting to default to self-destruct in XX hours.

Has anyone moved forward with this? If not, we'll work on it...but that'd leave us less time to work on OTHER tweaks (we'll share all hacks with the community, btw).

I've done this for topics imported from UBB.classic, so I know which database columns are affected, but haven't done anything as far as adding the feature to UBB.threads.

I would like this and I hope that all the features discussed will be in it. I have my own mods to write and update to 6.0.2 so I don't have the time to do it myself, at least not for quite some time. So it would be great if you, or someone else, could do it.

I may have spoke too soon.

Changing an existing post to a "marker" is more complicated than what I did for the import. I looked over the w3t_Posts columns, and I'm not sure exactly what changes would have to be made. I'd have to spend some time studying the code for adding/moving/deleting posts.
