I have been trying to look through the posts, but I haven't quite found what I need. I am trying to integrate our site with the ubbthreads boards. I am running version 5.5.1. I have created a login page that will authenticate the username and password and insert into the w3t_online table. However, I need to know how to set the session so that the boards will recognize the user as logged in.

So your not using the .threads login.php page? You may want to look over ubbt.inc.php auth function to see how it is done there.

the reason for not using the existing login page is that we want the users to login from our 'community' page and after they login we will redirect them back to the 'community' page. We have accomplished this, however, we need to store session info. to 'trick' the boards into thinking the user's logged in. We're trying to figure this out in the next couple of days as we are scheduled to launch the site.

I think it would probably be easier to modify ubbt.inc.php's login/start_page function to take users to your community page. With a few changes you could make such a feature a default value in their display prefs then if they wanted to change it to the forums or "my home" they could also do that.
