I thought I recalled seeing a setting somewhere for the default posting name for unregistered users. We're having a problem with people being too lazy to chance the default ("Anonymous").
Is there any way to have no default name (i.e., leave that field totally blank), but then require that the user enter something? I think that would solve our problem of too many people sticking with the default.
Thanks,
Jake

The default name is $ubbt_lang['ANON_TEXT'], which is defined in all the language files. I don't think making that a blank string would work, since it appears to be used for various things in addition to the posting form.
You could hack newpost.php and newreply.php, or the templates with the same names, so that the username field is initialized to a blank string. Search for $ubbt_lang['ANON_TEXT'] to see where to make the changes.

Thanks, Dave. I set the ANON_TEXT field to "" in the generic.php file and this appears to have done the trick.
