You need to assign the moderators to specific forums..... select "Assign a Moderator" from the "Admin" menu. Then they will have Mod "powers" in the forums they are assigned to. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure. I stay clear of the Database as much as possible.
What powers do they not have. Does the "edit" button not appear for them in their forums... No Admin menu?

the admin menu says they have moderator powers but they see no admin menu, they don't show up in the mod listing for the forums they are supposed to have been selected to moderate and they can't edit stuff either

You might look at this post. Those queries may help you see how moderators are stored in the database. There are several tables involved. Did you just do all those upgrades now? Or were they done over a period of time?

If they don't see the admin menu, then you might try checking their U_Status field. You can do this with a sql query:
SELECT U_Status FROM w3t_Users WHERE U_Username='username'

Is this a problem you've had all along, or did it start with your latest upgrade?
Did you look at the queries in the link I posted above? That shows you how the moderators are stored in the database.

The earlier versions of the classic import script didn't import moderators correctly. Supposedly that's been fixed.
Could you re-run those queries, replacing XYZ with one of the moderators who is having problems? Then we can see whether the database needs to be fixed.
