The date displayed properly when it wasn't s 'sticky thread' but as soon as I made it sticky the date got trashed.....

There is a bug in .threads 6.1 that causes the sticky post date to be changed when replies are posted to it. This may be causing the problem but I'll have to do some testing to see.


Edit Note: sure enough, the date is off on my test site. I beleve the 38 is in reference to 2038 as that's the end of the unix time stamp as far as 32bit size goes.


Does anyone have a copy of 6.0.3 running with IIP 4.3? The way the dates are calculated is the same so I'm wondering if it is just the sticky date bug in 6.1 that's causing this.

Don't have it running anymore, but with 6.0.3. and IIP 4.3 sticky posts used to appear with a way old (1969?) date?

No problem. I looked over the code of both .threads and IIP and I see what the problem is as far as IIP goes.

When a post is "sticky" the date is not really the posted date so using that field to get a date will only give incorrect results.

I'll get this fixed for IIP 6.0 though.

Are you going to fix the bug for IIP 6.1 IIP as well, or am I using a beta release of your interface?

BTW, that is one slick piece of software code---and so simple for us intermediate types to configure (although I'm not quite sure how to use html tags in a PHP script yet.

The bug is partially do to IIP and I will fix that and post it in the main zip shortly. The other problem though is that there is a flaw in the way sticky post dates are tracked by .threads so even though I can fix what IIP does the date will still be wrong *if* anyone posts a reply to the sticky thread.

Scream is aware of this .threads bug and is taking steps to have killed in 6.2
