Does anyone have a clue as to why banned users would be allowed to read posts and send private messages?? I would think if I ban someone they should have no access.... Even when I give them access to no groups they still have access to private messages..... Can anything be done about this??

Banned users can read things... but shouldn't be allowed to post or send private messages.

A trick... you could remove them from all user groups. They'll have a main index full of errors.

Thanks Josh, trying that..... This is a security flaw in my opinion.... I hope they fix this with the next version. I have a couple of people at my site that caused numerous problems and I don't like the idea of giving them access to pm's or anything. A ban should actually be a ban.... Maybe a hack is in order for this???

I think we should have two flavors of banned users.

The ones that can read but cannot write or send private messages (current functionality) and
The ones that are not allowed to login cause they are banned.

One could argue that Josh's workaround will achieve a similar result or even if you change the user's password or the Approved = no but still this takes a lot of effort.
