i've been thinking about this on and off for a while now, and i want to consider the techincal side of things.
Currently my site is funded from advertising, but maybe sometime in the future i'll be switching to subscriptions.
What I need to know is what i am about to propose is possible.
I'd like a few parts pf the forums visible to guests, but the rest of it, the person has to subscribe.
Is there a way of tying up some kind of online payment service (paypal for example) which will in turn generate a password which is used by ubbthreads. I'd also want this password to automatically expire after the subscription has reached it's end date.
I'm imagining that the only way to do this would be to use some kind of commerical software which hides the whole ubbthreads forum.
Has anyone done anything like this b4?
