I'm thinking there's got to be something with your server setup. You've had so many issues that nobody's seen before.

When users who aren't logged use the shout box it shows up as Anonymous. The field is there to type a name but it doesn't show up. If you type in a username that is taken it tells you that it is already being used, but if you type an unused username it just shows up as anonymous. I have the allow unregistered users to use the shout box set to one and the allow unregistered users to specify a nickname with the shout set to one. UBBt version 6.2.3, IIP 5.3.1, Linux Redhat

Yup. You need to either edit the version check step in 5.3 or download 5.3.1 from this thread.

Now when clicking on the profile index-link in IIP5.3 I see all my members listed alphabetically, but I would prefer a different order. I would like it to be sorted on activity! (most active posters on top). Another question: what my cause that I don't I see the avatars in the profile index? I only see the standard avatars with the question mark... In the random profile on the entrance page I do see the avatars. Thanks!

When someone logs in on the entrance page of IIP, I want that user to stay on the entrance page instead of being forwarded to the forum index. How can I change this ? a change in start_page.php ? Thank you

Question about the Link to configure. I have been searching for a other incidents like this one. I have not reedited IIP or anything so I do not know what caused this. I noticed the edit link down the bottom is gone. I have deleted IIP and database tables as well. So I started with a fresh install here of IIP and still there is not IIP link. Weird one. I tried logging out clearing cookies etc. To no avail. No biggy as I can edit the config file by hand.

I'm not sure what changes were made by Josh in 5.3.1 so it's hard for me say what may be the cause. There shouldn't be anything database related that pertains to this though. /paging Doctor Josh...

All I changed was the version check bit to allow 6.3 as well as 6.2... just for those who were uncomfortable trying to make that change on their own. Seemed easier. Omegatron, I think it appends the IIP link to the version number that threads uses in the footer "$VERSION". Your site is missing the threads version number - and thus the IIP link won't appear. Check your ubbt_footer.tmpl for the missing $VERSION variable. Might need to try a fresh copy of that template. Once the threads version number shows up for you - the IIP link should as well.

Simple Human Error then thats easy enough cause. Except the $VERSION variable is indeed in the ubbt_footer.tmpl Seems I had removed the $VERSION variable from the line in the footer call where we needed to add $dbh for the sidebar.

is there something wrong with this style sheet or template? I noticed once you get up to 37 pages, that and the "show all" link are kind of squished.

Yes, I believe so. That's what I'm using, with the addition of extremebikini's cache fix.

Dave - I have a site here: http://www.athenalink.com/forum/index.phpThat just started rendering incorrectly. The page stops rendering if the newspal is "on". It was working fine... no changes to report. Then poof. I left the newspal on so you could see. I've tried reuploading all the files - I dropped the IIPcache table and recreated it. Strip HTML is on. It seems to not matter what forums are selected either. Any help you might have I'd appreciate. Josh

All I see is a blank white page... the doc type says:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
I'm not sure if the wrong doc type would keep the page from displaying or not...

He used to run his own server... I moved him to a new host right before I went to Italy. It works just fine - until I put the newspal in there - then the page won't render. I've tried different combinations of forums.... and it doesn't matter. Doesn't like newpal all of a sudden.
