Here I go again. Everyone wants an option and I would rather not. I have sponsors for my site that often pay to have a custom look in the 'sponsored' forum. Now members have the option to collapse a catagory, which creates out of site, out of mind.
I can here my advertisers/sponsors telling me that it is to easy for members not to see the forum, since they can easily condense the catagory to which it belongs.
Is there a way I can fix the catagories to remain open, like that last version?

Easy template change.
In ubbthreads.tmpl template:
Find this:
{$catrow[$c]['ToggleLink']}
And either remove it, or comment it out like this:
<!--{$catrow[$c]['ToggleLink']} -->

This worked, but I got a report that someone collasped their board, now the option to open is gone... can I force this to "open" somehow?

[/] If you run this SQL query: UPDATE w3t_Users SET U_Categories = '-' That should force everyone's categories open.... in case they closed them before you removed the button.

Josh's post reminded me that if you use the "Sort the category order" function from admin, that query will also get performed. That should happen even if you don't actually change the numbers.
