Hi,

When trying to use the "add post icon" I get an error "There is already an icon with the name of in the /disk1/httpd/htdocs/ubbthreads/images/icons directory."

I have confirmed that the website has write permissions to the directory. I have the same issue with gremlins. Any thoughts? I have tried changing the filename to something very unique, so I know it isn't a duplicate filename

Check not only the permissions on the icons directory... but the images directory as well. Try 777 for both.

I am using 6.2.1.

I know that the Icons and gremlins are open to the website., I don't run the server itself, so I don't know if they are using 777.

I have turned off support for attachments within the forum, if that helps.

Get your host to check the permissions on the files, and probably more importantly the directories. That's probably the problem.

I *think* I ran into this once... and I remember the error message I got threw me off the trail.

Well, I made some progress.

We set all files in the Graemlin and Icons directory to 777 (the directory is also 777).

When trying to add a Graemlin the new error is:

You must provide a ubbcode for the graemlin, Even though I have tried :name: and [name]

Same error as before with adding icons though.

Try it without the : or the [] characters. I had the same problem. The forum automatically adds the : and [] characters

Warm regards

Would it be possible to PM me with your forum details and a time convenient so that we can both be in there and have a look?

Warm regards
