I searched but couldn't find an answer. Is there a way to give someone mod priviledges without showing that they are a mod? Such as a flag and such? And without sending a pm to the other mods?

I'm not aware of an existing hack that does this.

Turning off (permanantly) all the group PMs can be done with a simple code change in one place. Preventing the user from being identified as a moderator anywhere would probably require a number of changes.

An alternative would be to have the user register under a second user profile, make the latter a moderator, and tell him only to post under his normal profile.
