is the appearance of break-space-break HTML tags in quoted back text a bug or a config error on our end? v.6.2

I'd report this as a bug, but can't find a link anywhere in this site to a bug report forum.

Hmmm.. haven't seen that before.

Is that quoting an Older post (made under an older version)?

The reason I ask is that threads doesn't use <br> anymore, as it's not XHTML compliant. The last several versions of threads have used <br />.

The only time I ever see the <BR> pop up is when I go and edit a version 6.0 or before post... as those were created with the older tags. The markup stuff was all changed around in one of the early version 6 releases.

See if you get the same thing when you quote a post made under a current version.

Ok, got it. The posting it's replying to was imported from different software. We need to tweak our import script so that it converts the linebreak tags to whatever it is UBBT is looking for. I'll do a view source and see what standard is.

Sorry to waste bandwidth (and thanks for your reply), but maybe this will at least encourage others converting to UBBT to watch for this in their import script
