Hi, I just transfered to a new host, upgraded from version 6.1.1 to 6.2.3, then I installed IIP 5.3.1. Now when I try to post I get this message: The host you are trying to send the input from is not a valid host. Unfortunately, I didn't test the posting ability in between. I didn't get any errors during the altertable script and everything looks fine but I can't post.

Warning: fopen(/home/wwwtsbiu/public_html/iBASE/stylesheets/ultradevgrn.css) [function.fopen]: failed to create stream: Permission denied in /home/wwwtsbiu/public_html/iBASE/admin/doeditskin.php on line 45 Also, when trying to edit some of the style sheets throught the admin panel it returns the error:
Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/wwwtsbiu/public_html/iBASE/admin/doeditskin.php on line 46
Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/wwwtsbiu/public_html/iBASE/admin/doeditskin.php on line 47
Also, now when I try to edit the settings for IIP it tells me that: "The host you are trying to send the input from is not a valid host." Any ideas?

The not a valid host means that you have the referer check on in your config file... and you (or your users are behind a firewall). The firewall blocks the referer and does not allow you to post in threads. Either - turn off the referer check in your config file, or disable your firewall/add your site to the trusted sites. Instructions here: Browser ProblemsThe second error.... looks like your stylesheets and your stylesheet directory is not writable. "Permission denied" make sure ownership and permissions are correct on these files. Alot of time ownerships and permissions will get goofed when you move from one server to another. You might need to chown all the file to make sure they are owned by the right user, and double check all your permissions. If you are on a Unix server - this part of the manual will help.

It was the referer. I had made a change to it in the config file. My mind was just too fragged for me to remember what I changed. The other error was that 3 of the style sheets I uploaded were 644, thats why I only had the error with some of them. Thanks. Mr Bug always has the answer.

sorry to bump such an old thread...but I just wanted to say that this advice fixed a problem I might have had for a long time. People have complained that they had difficulties posting from time to time but it seems that most people with this problem simply gave up and decided just to go away Then tonight a friend of mine tried to post and got the "The host you are trying to send the input from is not a valid host" message. At first I had no idea what was wrong, then I desided to search for it here and voila! I found this thread and the problem was fixed in a minute!
