Hi,

I am using an include within a php page - never used to have a problem, but whenever I include an externally hosted file I now get the error...

Warning: main(): stream does not support seeking

The included file still displays, but the error above is shown above it.

Running PHP 4.3.2, and am not sure if the problem began, when we upgraded PHP.

Tried a google search on the error, but just pulled up numerous examples of the error, rather than a soloution.

Any thoughts?

They changed how streams work in 4.3 which added lots of nice features, but added some problems, although I thought most were fixed. Streams are used for all I/O.

Is it the same problem regardless of page included and server included from?

Update: Others seem to have the same problem as you, although I can't say that I've seen it and I'm using 4.3.2. See reported bugs:

Thanks - I've turned report errors off - within the .ini file, so at least we do not display it now Although there are probably downsides to doing this.

It's just a notice, so it won't matter much. You might miss other notices that show up when something's changed, but usually notices won't give you any trouble anyway. So you're probably safe.
