That would be your problem there. I beleive ADMIN STATUS overrides the toggle to allow or dissallow subscriptions. If you have turned off subscriptions in the config section of the admin section also go to your admin profile and turn off subscriptions.

Do you want to turn off subscriptions only for that one user?

I turned off subscription for all users but I am still getting many messages each day and they all go to the same email... that email used to be the email used in the administrator account
I just want subscription to stop. No more subscription email for anyone.

Do you mean that the people that signed up for subscription will continue to receive htem even if i turned subscription off and htat they have not way to unsubscribe? (unless I turn subscription on again) Is there a command to cancel all subscriptions?

I think the config setting "allow subscriptions" only controls whether users can edit their subscriptions, and does not affect existing subscriptions. If you want to completely stop subscriptions from being emailed, you can either remove (or comment out) the cron table entry for the subscription script, or you can empty (delete all rows from) the w3t_Subscribe table. If you only want to stop subscriptions for that one email address, you could examine the w3t_Subscribe table to see who that is, and then delete the applicable rows. If you'd like personal assistance with this, please PM me.

Are you running a cron job for the subscriptions?
Stop the cron job if so.
Picture perfect penmanship here.

Both Dave's are saying the same thing. Stop the cron job. In your case your host would have to do it.

If you don't want to stop the cron job - we could replace the subscriptions script with something that doesn't send any emails out. Then the cron job would be in place if you want it in the future.

[]Both Dave's are saying the same thing.[/] But I said it first. There's also my other suggestion: empty the w3t_Subscribe table.

ok, it's simple. If you don't want to ask your host to stop the cron job then open the file, after #/usr/bin/perl, on the next line put exit; <br />#!/usr/bin/perl<br />exit;<br /><br /> bingo. cron runs, nothing gets sent. you didn't disturb your host ( heaven forbid you should do that! ) and nothing gets sent.

$25 for a stopping a cron task You might want to consider getting a new ISP. A cron job is a pretty basic thing. I would think you would be able to find a better host to meet your needs.

The fee is not a problem because it is a service rarely used and becasue I pay $8 per month for traffic other sites like racknine would charge me $200 or $300
