since I can't seem to figure out how to add a line break before the first/top/parent post of a thread.
Using 6.3

postlist.tmpl file. Add a <br /> before the $tbopen
I think that should do it.

It should be the first $tbopen. Now based on your example where exactly do you want to add your new line?

I think you need to change this:
<span class="small"> {$postrow[$i]['time']} <br /> {$postrow[$i]['lastposter']}</span> </td> </tr>
to this:
<span class="small"> {$postrow[$i]['time']} <br /> {$postrow[$i]['lastposter']}</span> <br /> </td> </tr>
in your postlist.tmpl
Tell me if this did the trick

It didn't work. It added line breaks after every single post. I can email you my postlist template if that would help.
I appreciate it.
Did you get those logos?

I haven't looked at it - but since you are using expanded mode - you might need to go beyond the template modifications and into the postlist.php script. Particularly the "show replies" function. That's what displays all the follow up replies and all the indentations. I don't know if I'd know how to do it - my head always hurts when it involves playing with the show replies function. LOL But I *think* that would be the place to start looking around.

Josh, is there a variable that identifies the first post in a thread? I'm lost.

The post that has B_Topic set as 1 in the Database would be the first post in the thread. Not sure if that helps you. But maybe it's on the right track.

Yes I got the pictures Tigervoice, thanks once again. Feel free to email me the file and I will see what can be done.
