I got this idea from another site. I created a page using
Templated Generic Threads Page that says something like: Are you new? Please
Register and say hello in the "Introduce Yourself" forum and you will get a nice warm welcome from everyone etc. I then added a "Are you a newbie" link to the ubbt_unregisterednav.tmpl file. I am hoping this will help generate more traffic and make the users feel welcomed to the site.
