I have installed a few message boards but never did an upgrade. Are there any tricks?
I have a board with no modifications.

No modifications? Should be fairly easy then. Just follow the upgrade instructions included with the new release.

I would like to upgrade to but am hack loaded... really dragging my feet thinking 6.4 might be just around the corner.

With an unmodified board it is a cake walk. Just make sure you backup your database before the upgrade(I know its in the instructions but it bears repeating) in case one of the scripts hicups or you accidently run a script twice and have to restore and run it again. It shouldn't take much more time than it takes you to upload the files.

I know what you mean. I upgraded to 6.2.3 just before 6.3 came out. I only had 4 mods installed but it seemed like I had just finished hacking all my files when 6.3 was released to the member area. Now I have more hacks installed on my 6.3.1 board thanks to all the great people here who share thier cool mods to threads. As the functionallty of some of these mods are incorporated it seems that I find more mods that require more hacking to install. I guess more difficult upgrades is the price you pay for making threads working exactly the way you want to.
