I left last night for a trip to the drag strip, but when I returned this morning, I found that my father had wandered into the admin section of our board and tried to close the boards. It seems some members were causing trouble, and he didn't know how to shut it down correctly, so he told me he "erased the first box he came to", which I'm *assuming* was something in the config(?) section of the Admin page.
He said he wrote down what he erased, which was "http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads" Well, since he did that, I can't get back into the admin section to fix it, as it come back as a dead link! Any idea how I can "work around" this problem and restore all to normal?
Thanks!

What version?
Manually edit your config.inc.php file, and look for a variable that should have a value but is empty, and place that URL there. It sounds like it might be this one:
// Url to the main UBB.threads php install $config['phpurl']= "";
Backup the file before changing it.

That's what/where I thought, but it shows this already, yet still no worky:
// Url to the main UBB.threads php install $config['phpurl'] = "http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads";
So why doesn't it recognize it?

It looks like the field that was cleared was: URL to the main UBB.threads install There are ways to fix this. If you have downloaded a backup of your config.inc.php then you can simply restore that. I'm guessing you don't or you probally would have done that already. So, what you will need to do is ftp down your config.inc.php. Open it with a text editor and find these two lines: // Url to the main UBB.threads php install $config['phpurl'] = ""; Put http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads between the qoutes, save and upload. Your board should be back up. These instructions are based on 6.3.1 but the text should be the same for other versions as well.

Well, I see I was too late. Dave_L beat me to it. I see your board is back up now though. Edit: I guess only your Main Index page is up. All of the links are missing "ubbthreads" from them. Try using this link: http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/admin/editconfig.php?Cat= It should take you into the admin panel if you haven't logged out, this should drop you directly into your config editor. Then you can spot the blank line.

Your last solution brought me to the admin page, but when I tried to "update", I got this message:
The requested URL /admin/doeditconfig.php was not found on this server.

It was kinda odd... it was like the config file that was there wasn't the one being used.... yet it's the one main.inc.php was calling. I actually got another web site a few times accessing his domain..... so I think that perhaps his host is moving him. I ended up downloading the source of editconfig.php page, manually changing the post location and adding the correct phpurl in then it worked. <shrug> Go figure.

Josh, that would explain the odd happenings of a few days ago. I made a post at the house, and the board was working just fine, but stopped by my father's house and the board was having MAJOR problems. And there were different posts on each board! Sounds like my host is playing games...
