I have to move to another server, and it seems that the new server a bit different that my old one.

I had no problem using the shell to create databases using mysqladmin command on the old server, but this new server is giving me a headache.

I contacted the webhosting company, and they said that the system is 'chrooted'.

They also using ensim control panel instead of cpanel, the one that I am familiar with.

Anyone can help me? what is that 'chrooted'?
I want to use the shell command line to add a wild card host for the mysql server, so I can move the database first and still accessed from the old one.

You must be using an older version of Ensim (if it's teh 3.1 series). If it were up to date you would have mysqladmin. I know, this server and all of our servers are using Ensim. Our older servers were missing mysqladmin in the virtual sites but all got it when we ran a recent update on them.

It also has nothing at all to do with being chrooted. Your virtual site just doesn't have mysqladmin.

That being said, even if you had mysqladmin in your virtual site you still could not add a wildcard for host in your database permissions. You would have no access to neither the mysql database nor the users table. You would not be able to flush privs either. Your hosting company would have to do it for you.

FYI, you also should have phpMyAdmin preinstalled.
