We have a problem, whereby users cannot upload images - the images are not being added to the /uploads folder.
The users profile is being updated so an image is called by threads, but as it was not uploaded nothing is displayed.
Attachments are uploaded to the same folder - these work fine.
We get no errors, when the images are not added to the folder.
I also added Dave_L's mod to allow admins to upload images for users, but this also fails saying file must be gif, jpg or ping - which they are. (this is the only error we can produce)
If I run the test under the config setting in admin, then the test works, and all is well.
So as attachments work, as does the test - it must be a script error (I think)
Perhaps someone could give me a clue as to where to look for an answer...
I think the path is correct as when I run the test under config within admin, it places a test.file in the uploads folder, which would not happen if the path was wrong. I use the same folder (uploads) for both attachments and uploaded avatars from members.
Ok, that error message is displayed if the PHP function getimagesize() either failed to read the file, or if it read it and decided from the file's content that the file was not one of the image file types that it supports.
Are you sure that the files are valid images? Could you attach a zip file containing one or two of the files that resulted in that error message?
If I upload the same image as an attachment then it works fine, and it uploads to the same folder (/uploads) - I can also download the same attachment, and open it in photoshop One of the test images is attached. Nothing abnormal.
There is an error with PHP in winows. I see though you are running on a linux server HMM
I saw this problem trying to upload images in Photopost IMAGECREATFROMGIF would not work. What was happening in windows builds of PHP is that GIF READ was saying it was enabled but truly was not.
I think I kind of have the same problem. User avatar images don't show up. Paths have been checked in the admin console. The file just won't upload the folder i've chosen. Permissions are ok too, even the testfile works!
