I have version 6.2 and I had a user tell me that he cannot see all of the posts in a certain thread unless he selects the "Show All" button. I became him and the thread in question had 8 pages with his default number of posts per page set at 10. When you click on the last page, it doesn't show the last 2 posts. If you click on "Show All" it does. I changed his posts per page to 15 and it turned into 6 pages and showed the last 2 posts. I then changed his posts per page to 20 and it turned into 4 pages and didn't show the last 2 posts. I had my ppp set at 25 and never had a problem but when I changed it to 20, it seemed to drop the last 2 posts also. Any ideas?

yeah, bug in 6.2 when the number of replies is off in a thread, the number of pages will be wonky. It's been fixed in 6.3. The solution in the meantime is to either show all, or try a different number of posts per page.
I'm not sure if the check post/count utility fixes this type of issue or not.

Thanks. If I changed the default number in the "edit theme settings" page, will it change everyones or just the new people signing on?

No - theme settings only apply to new user - the problem should disappear when another reply or two is posted to the trouble'd thread.
No matter what the settings - if a Thread's reply count is munged up in the database - then no matter how many posts per page you're displaying, it would always be an issue at some point.
If my theory is correct.... the problem is that the database shows, for example 12 replies when there are really only 10. So at some point, when it divides the replies by the number that should be per page - it'll be leaving a page off.
If it's specific threads, some diagnostics can be done in the database to see how many real replies there are, and update the number of replies to the correct number.
I think 6.3 has a step in it if the number of replies are off - it gets recalculated on it's own. But there's been some various bugs related to this - including the bug that sometimes makes the last page in the thread contain no posts.

OK, I had deleted a user yesterday that had I think 12 replies and I thought that might have something to do with it. Thanks.
BTW I am working on that other problem we discussed. I should know something in the next day or two.

Yeah, no problem. Did this user that you deleted have responses in this thread? If it's just a couple of specific threads you notice this problem with - PM me with the link and I can verify if my theory to the problem here is correct. I have a number of theories.... but all of them could be wrong.

He had I think 12 or 13 relies in that thread. This is the only thread I have ever noticed this happening with.
