I need to add a disclaimer signiture to all my users except administrators. I dont want this to replace peoples custom sigs, I just want it to follow on underneath their own sig. Anyone have any ideas how I can do this. I tried editing the showthreaded.php and showflat.php I added this piece of code after this: if ($showsigs == "no") { $Signature = ""; } if ($PostStatus != 'Administrator') $Signature=$Signature .' <br><br>--------------------<br> This is where I will put the text for my standard sig '; Oh I am running version: 6.3.2 Thanks Laura The Webmistress

That looks like it should work, if you made that change exactly as you described. Are you saying it had no effect?

To me, that code looks like it will only add the "disclaimer" if it is an admin making the post.

Really... that's strange.. Because I had this working on the previous version of threads and it worked fine, but as soon as I upgraded I pasted this back in to the files and it's doesn't work.
I never had the disclaimer in my posts because I am an admin, but the other users had the disclaimer.
Hmm... Back to the drawing board. I can’t think what would have changed in the new version to not make it work.
Thanks
Laura

Okay, != is not equal to, I miss that the first time, so that should work. The only thing I can think of is that language files were incorporated more in in 6.3. Perhaps the changes there effected this. I tried your snippit of code on my devboard and it didn't show up. I'm not much of a coder, but I don't see why this doesn't work. Perhaps defining it as a varible in the language file and calling that way will work better. I am swamped right now sending out our newsletter but if I get a chance and noone else has jumped on this, I will take a look at this over the weekend.

Thanks. I'll have a play about with it myself too. I'll let you know if I get anywhere with it.
