Classic used to have this feature. Not sure if Threads does. Any thoughts.

Users can request a temporary password from the login screen, but I'm not aware of a way to it manually from the admin panel or something like that.

No, No way for an admin to do it as users can do it themselves. It sends a temporary password, as due to encryption, there is no way to retrieve the existing password. But there is a function in this mod https://www.ubbdev.com/forum/showflat.php/Number/83010to generate and send a temporary password to a user.
