what's going on at these two sites? Since days all the images do not load. Trying to safe bandwidth?  It's the same on different pc's in different locations. All other sites work fine, except ubbdev.com and infopop.com. Anyone else noticed the same behaviour?

Yeah, nothing that I'm aware of.
I think we run hotlinking protection here - so if you are blocking your referrer you might not see them (but then you wouldn't be able to post here either). So I dunno. I see all the images.
Are you using IE?

today everything is fine again. And much faster than last week  It was browser independent and not only at my pc. Even at different locations / networks. I didn't even restart the pc, but now see all images again. Maybe a problem at the backbone of a local internet provider in my area.

There were some issues with propagation last week - so that might have been the reason, but those have been resolved - so you should be fine now.
