Regarding the problem of losing user records under MySQL v4.0.x (
6.3.1] User was deleted while reading posts). As this is a bug in the MyISAM table handler I switched the w3t_Users table to table type
InnoDB on my test server.
I only ALTERed the table type and did not change anything else. So far I see no differences playing around with the forum. I think that's a good indication
Anyway I like to know if anyone else is running ubb.threads on InnoDB. Any experience? Do I need to implement anything (eg. transactions) to benefit from the higher reliability of InnoDB? Drawbacks seem to be a little slower access than with MyISAM tables and allocation of a lot more table-space (in my case approx. +150%).
