Hi,

We just upgraded to 6.4 Beta 1 (any major reason to go to Beta 3, or can we just wait for Final?), and while most things are fine now we are experiencing a VERY long wait at the bottom of the pages.

The page loads fine until it hits the Jump to box, builds that fine as well, but then there is a long wait until the Jump button and the final part of the page appears.

I've looked at the source, but can't find anythng that would account for this.

Suggestions?

Sanuk!

PS Will most of the 6.2 / 6.3 hacks work with 6.4 as well?

Did you try and beyond compare your old board into the new one?

If you did try and place some older version hacks there that could be your problem. 6.4 beta 1 installed clean with no hacks loads just fine.

There is no BETA3 released yet. I would look for the product to go final without any more beta releases.

As far as hacks there are many that have been updated and posted here that are working on 6.4. Use the new modification index and search for hacks for 6.4

Hi,

"If you did try and place some older version hacks there that could be your problem. 6.4 beta 1 installed clean with no hacks loads just fine. "
As far as I am aware this is a clean install (well, upgrade of 6.1.1) and I have not yet added a single hack.

"There is no BETA3 released yet. I would look for the product to go final without any more beta releases."
Uh, then why does this board say "UBB.threads™ 6.4b3" at the bottom?

"Use the new modification index and search for hacks for 6.4"
Yes, have already done that, and grabbed a bunch of them to be included. Still there are many other ones for previous versions that I wouldn't mind adding too. Oh well, guess I'll need to wait.

PS Just noticed that the wait is not always in the same place, just now it was after the 'Manage this thread' part.

You can append a &debug=1 to the url to see a detailed overview of all queries and the time they take. This feature is only available to administrators.

Hi,

"You can append a &debug=1 to the url to see a detailed overview of all queries and the time they take."
Excellent!

There were 2 queries which took much more time than the others:

SELECT t1.B_Number , t1.B_Parent , t2.U_Username , t1.B_Posted , t1.B_Last_Post , t1.B_Subject , t1.B_Main , t1.B_Status , t1.B_Approved , t1.B_Icon , t1.B_Reged , t1.B_Counter , t1.B_Replies , t1.B_Rating , t1.B_Rates , t1.B_RealRating , t2.U_Color , t2.U_Status , t1.B_PosterId , t1.B_File , t2.U_Number , t1.B_Sticky , t1.B_AnonName , t1.B_LastPosterId , t1.B_LastPostNum , t1.B_Poll , t1.B_CalDay FROM w3t_Posts AS t1 , w3t_Users AS t2 WHERE t1.B_Topic = 1 AND t1.B_Board = 'UBB1' AND t1.B_PosterId = t2.U_Number AND ( (t1.B_Last_Post > 1069597773 AND t1.B_Sticky !='1') OR t1.B_Sticky='1') ORDER BY t1.B_Sticky DESC , t1.B_Last_Post DESC LIMIT 26

SELECT COUNT(*) FROM w3t_Posts AS t1 WHERE t1.B_Topic = 1 AND ( (t1.B_Last_Post > 1069597773 AND t1.B_Sticky !='1') OR t1.B_Sticky='1') AND t1.B_Board='UBB1'

Still that they took only 0.197 and 0.135 seconds respectively. Can't really be the cause, I think. Combined time for the queries for the page was: 0.385 seconds.
The page however takes more than a minute to fully load.

Sorry, but you lost me. We are not pulling any pics from the w3c site. The only URL to it is to set the doctype, and every UBBT page does that.

Futhermore, I do not see any odd URLs in the source.

Hi,

I think I found the problem. All the pages that were loading slowly were in forums that had non-generic headers. However there were no footers associated with the forum. The server tried to load them, but could not find the file causing it to wait.

Just added those footers and the problem seems to be solved

Figured I'd let you guys know.
