At this moment I have version 6.2.2 running and I am planning to update it to 6.4 very soon!

I have 3 mods installed: birthday mod, quick reply and the photopost integration.

Which step should I follow for a succesfull upgrade ?

I guess the birthday mod will be causing some trouble

I would 1 Close the baord using the closed board option in ubbthreads admin panel under config settings..

then I would backup the database using both the backup command of my control panel (CPanel, Webmin, Plesk) AND using the Database Backup function on the Threads Admin Panel.. (I am anal about backing up)

then I would delete the threads directory all but the backup directory (some say just write over but again I am anal I don't like leaving old files laying around)

then I would install threads 6.4 from the tarball

then I would reintegrate the photopost integration, and the quick reply and any other mod you have that is 6.4 compatible..

then I would run the altertable-6.2-6.3.php and then the altertable-6.3-6.4.php which would bring your database in...

then I would re-open the board

others will say different ways though

Is there any conflicts with the Birthday Mod? Or will the update script just take care of it? Any advice?

Yes, there is one conflict in the birthday mod. The altertable script will run, except for the small part where it adds the birthday info for 6.4. Since there is already a birthday row in the database, it doesn't overwrite it, and causes the user to update that part of the database manually.

Ok, please correct me if I'm wrong
[*] I will make a new install of 6.4 www.mydomain.com/forum/beta (for safety/testing) [*] After installation is finished with a clean new database, I will re-install my hacks/mods [*] Then I would import my old database using the restore function [*] Then I would run the altertables and convertbday.php for the birthday mod. Now new (beta) board should be ready for launch ?

Please let me know

Oh, and I also have the inline images mod installed... will this cause any trouble ?

Ok...so far so good!

Everything seems to be running fine now, except for the birthdays which do NOT display
