Hi,

I've noticed that the newest member and the amount of registered users is not updating on my board. I know this info is cached, but it was set to cache only for a maximum of 60 minutes (reduced that to 15, made no difference).

While this is obviously not of vital importance, I would still like to see it display correctly.

Suggestions?

Sanuk!

That might be best posted over at the Infopop forum as a bug.

If you manually refresh IIP does it update?

He is not talking IIP

He is talking in the Extra Information Box down bottom. I changed mine to the minimum of 15 and it works.

Kasanuk if you have a very busy board you might be off continually. As it takes a bit to update. When I first saw your post I went to my board and tested this out. I saw member count name etc. It was down by one but a member just registered. I gad mine set to 15 and went back and checked and it did indeed update.

I guess I don't get the logic behind this function. Does it cause so much of a server load to have it display right away? This only came about in 6.4 and you are forced to set a minimum of 15 minutes.

Well it takes away a few queries which load each time the page I would think which is a good thing.

Agreed, although it shouldn't be forced, especially for those who don't have huge boards. I know it's only 15 minutes but it's another option taken away (am I starting to sound like Rush here )

Actually on busy boards the 2 queries used to generate that information always took the longest and was the main cause for slowdowns on these boards as it would do a full table scan, twice. If you really want to make it less than 15 you can edit a couple files to reduce it.

Line 161 of admin/doeditconfig.php and line 680 of ubbthreads.php. Change 15 to something less.

Hi,

"Kasanuk if you have a very busy board you might be off continually. As it takes a bit to update."
I don't mind it being off a little bit, but it hasn't updated for several days now.
It still says "5335 Registered User(s).", while the Admin section tells me we are up to ...

Uh, hang on...

It says 5335 there as well. Guess there has been nothing to update

Thing is that we forced people to register (before they could read) before the upgrade which meant we had about 10-15 people register a day. Now we do not enforce this, and I guess registrations have pretty much stopped

The danger in being unable to force a clear of this though is that someone could register a nasty name....so it seems kind of buggy to me that we can't force a clear....

Yes, that was an oversight on my part that I will get resolved.
