More information might help on this one. What browser are you using.

I am using Mozilla Firebird .71 and Internet Explorer 6 and do not have those problems.

This is still happening I am on Mac Panther 10.3.2 ad safari 1.1.1 and every page I go to it scrolls down and shows me the retrostats all the way to the bottom this is a new behavior shortly before the xmass theme was added. There must be some errant anchor or code
causing this.

This isn't happening with anyone else that was seen this thread and most of us use multiple browsers as checks since we code things. I have IE Mozilla and Opera and all view fine for me.

That would tend as we see earlier in this thread as well that the problem is on your end.

Something is different because it didn't do this that long ago, But I have confirmed this on 3 different Mac's Running the latest panther and safari. Perhaps a safari bug but it only does this w/ Threads dev and not any other threads site. Perhaps something in retrostats or something?

It is just really annoying I have to page up after every link.

Well the only thing I was pointing out is the obvious. If you look at this thread which has been visable for a month no one else has posted that they have this problem. Therefore by process of elimination this looks to be a problem with your specific software. It could very well be a bug with safari but Josh uses Safari but he did not post which one.

If you really want to track down your problem go download Mozilla. http://www.mozilla.org and give that browser a try

If there was something on this end we could try and fix we would

Not to be a pill. But, I really believe that there is something different in this version of Safari conflicting with something modified in the current version of threadsdev. I have visited many other members sites including your own and none exhibit this behavior only threadsdev.

I am not about to change my browser, and you are correct other browsers do not react the same way, If I am to switch browsers then this issue really never get's solved.

I have tried this on multiple machines w/ same configurations and they both exhibit this behavior. So it is not just my machine but rather a unintended interaction.

It has to be some errant code in header or footer as it happens on every PAGE that is longer than normal screen height. Even on the "basic" page like the "games" link.

I don't use safari regularly - I still had version 1 and did not have this problem.
But the latest Safari does.

I'd say it's probaby the retrostats code at the bottom. That used to be wayyyy bad, but Allen cleaned up the validation errors recently.

You mean this

<div align="center"><script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
var data, p;
var agt=navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase();
var img=escape("./buttons/b1.jpg");
document.cookie='__support_check=1';
p='http';
if((location.href.substr(0,6)=='https:')||(location.href.substr(0,6)=='HTTPS:')) {p='https';} data = '&agt=' + escape(agt) + '&img=' + img + '&r=' + escape(document.referrer) + '&aN=' + escape(navigator.appName) + '&lg=' + escape(navigator.systemLanguage) + '&OS=' + escape(navigator.platform) + '&aV=' + escape(navigator.appVersion);
if(navigator.appVersion.substring(0,1)>'3') {data = data + '&cd=' + screen.colorDepth + '&p=' + escape(screen.width+ 'x'+screen.height) + '&je=' + navigator.javaEnabled();};
document.write('<a href="http://www.retrostats.com/template.php?a=threadsdev">');
document.write('<img border="0" hspace="0" vspace="0" alt="" src="http://www.retrostats.com/counter.php?a=threadsdev' + data + '" /> </a>');
</script>
<noscript>
<a href="http://www.retrostats.com/template.php?a=threadsdev" target="_blank">
<img border='0' hspace='0' vspace='0' alt="" src="http://www.retrostats.com/counter.php?a=threadsdev" /></a></noscript>
<br />
<a href="http://www.retrostats.com">free website counter</a>
</div>

Well I ran the main ThreadsDev page through the validator and it only has three errors. One because of & in a Forum Title. Another with the trademark and one with the retrostats. But that would not cause the error. The validator does not like a=threadsdev" but changing it to &?a=threadsdev" should fix that. I know I had to go through my phpAdsNew script code when I first put up my banners to tweak the code to be COMPLIANT.

So it comes back to my original hypothesis. As Josh stated that it is probally something the new version of Safari doesn't like about the retrostats script. However as I stated before it is a bug with that particular browser.

Other than Josh removing the retrostats code I don't see what more can be done other than switching browsers. I am not trying to sound harsh here just pointing out the reality that the problem is in that version browser not ThreadsDev site itself.

It was something to do with the SIDE Bar I turned it of and the problem went away
