Could someone give me the PHP equivalent to this Perl string please?

The same Big difference where you define variables my $printOut =""; would be $printOut = "";

I believe the PHP equivelant of the code snippet would be the same .. no changes. Unless in perl, you are using $_ or $@ kinda variables.
