I have a little question to ask..
Say I have an Internet DNS name i.e. www.mydomain.com and it is forwarded to mydomain.redirect.com. I don't have a static ip and have to use a free DNS service and agent to update the DNS mydomain.redirect.com if the IP changes..

So what I want is, for http://www.addicted2travel.com to still appear in the URL address bar after it has redirected to http://addicted2travel.dynalias.com

I am wanting to run a PHP forum similar to this and it would look more professional if the non redirected url was displayed at all times.... is this possible and if so how??

My DNS host let me use URL masking.. However when I put use http://www.addicted2travel.com everything appears to work, except when I log in.. it says not all the fields were filled in.. is it possible in PHP/UBBT to use both DNS addresses???

Many thanks and I hope I have explained this properly.

I would suggest using relative for remote and absolute for local.

sadgit, there are a few ways to do this depending on your server and environment. Have a look at some of these topics from DevShed.com http://forums.devshed.com/related/show/Domain+Masking/

I am hosting on my own server and have addicted2travel.com forwarded to addicted2travel.dynalias.com (which is updated from my server using a DNS client)

So, in the UBBT config.inc.php file I have used the addicted2travel.com domain i.e.
// Full URL to the images folder. Necessary for users that want their email
// in HTML format.
$config['imageurl'] = "http://addicted2travel.com/images";

but when I try to login I get the following error
"All of the required fields are not filled in.
Please use your back button to return to the previous page."

It is driving me mad.. so close yet so so so far away....

If I use addicted2travel.dynalias.com in the config.inc.php everything works, but URL masking then doesn't..

Have a look and see for yourself..

Cheers

Have a look at this thread https://www.ubbdev.com/forum/showflat...5/o/all/fpart/1 Josh describes how to Park and redirect domains. It may be just what you are looking for.
