Our "Registered User(s)" total at the bottom of the Main Index is not updating on a regular basis.

It gets stuck on a certain number (even though new registrations happen). The "Welcome to our newest member" line also gets stuck at the same time.

A couple of times the number has "jumped" to reflect the current correct number. But then will stop updating again.

Any thoughts on a fix for this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

What version? If it's 6.4, there's a cache setting in the admin > config section, bottom of the page. Minimum is 15 minutes. May want to check that.

Actually on busy boards the 2 queries used to generate that information always took the longest and was the main cause for slowdowns on these boards as it would do a full table scan, twice. If you really want to make it less than 15 you can edit a couple files to reduce it.

Line 161 of admin/doeditconfig.php and line 680 of ubbthreads.php. Change 15 to something less.

Doh, I should know better not to include our version number... which is 6.4.2

I see the cache settings in the config. We have it set at 60 minutes. But it doesn't update every 60 minutes. Maybe a couple of times a day if we're lucky.

Hope this extra info helps someone find our problem.

Thanks!

I did what ericgtr said and set it to 5 min. it has updated perfectly since. I had 18 new regged yesterday....

When it was set to 15 minutes. it did update but the update came about 4 hours after that 15 minute mark...
