I attempted to install the mod that hides posts until approval by an administrator and mistakenly overwrote my showflat.php showthreaded.php editpost.php and modifypost.php in my languages/english/ folder instead of my UBBthreads folder (and I had backed up the files I was modifying I just didn't anticipate modifying the wrong set of files with my braindead FTPing. Is there a way I can get copies of the languages/english files I need without downloading the entire UBB?

Thanks so much!

In short, no. Do you have the stock files on your system? If not, you will need to go back to infopop and download it again. This has happened to me also, that's why I now copy the entire stock folder and never touch the original.

I dont think so. You most likly have to dl the .zip from the member area. this is ofcourse you have that ver. If you have a different version then you might have even more of a problem....

I wish they would leave the older versions up in the members area. I have 2 threads license's and one is for a forum I host. they want to keep the older version and not upgrade. If I made a mistake on the forum while modding something (as you did here) I would have no way to get the original files anymore...

Another option is to uninstall the mod in reverse to get the files back to the way they were.

that would work in most cases but its alwas easier to have a copy of the original files

what I did with 6.4 was install it and then create another folder in the directory tree and lad all the files there. all the originals are just a click away.

So is there no place to get any of the older versions.

This is when having a developement board can come in handy. If you have a dev board you have two copies of all of your files. Of coarse, I've taken this one step further with another piece of sw that I have been modding. Can you tell that I've been burnt before. For this sw I actually have an install between developement and production. That way I can test pushing out the changes. It has saved me some major headaches. Threads, as I understand it, only allows one dev install per license though.

[]ROFL@ericgtr[/] !!!!

I bought one license and then after I had some issues I was told it would be better if I just upgraded. Well, I bought the license and here i am. I bought another license for a host that wanted to use threads but he only wants to use the 6.3.2 version (go figure)

Did you get this resolved.... I have backup copies of all your files. I checked though and your language files are back - so maybe you already downloaded and copied them up. Let me know if you need backups.

Great news Josh (Josh is better than a development board)! I ultimately used the files I had in my old UBBThreads version (before you did the upgrade). My editpost is kind of wacky so I think I did something wrong there (I also screwed up some of the main files before I realized what I had done). If you could check my edit post I would be much obliged. I had installed a mod whereby I could edit and delete with leaving the "post deleted by" and "post edited by" but I could probably figure out how to do that again if I had the original file.

I am living proof that a little information is a dangerous thing!!
