Hi guys,

I just upgraded to 6.4.2 from 6.2.3, quite a major upgrade. All went smoothly, and I was able to install 90% of my previous mods (photopost integration etc). However, there is one strange bug I can't track down. When clicking on a post from the Postlist, the anchor tag to jump down to the first unread post is not working properly. Instead of being #Post<newest post number> it is coming out as #Post<newest post number><first post number>. Can anyone tell me where this number would be generated from, and where I might look to correct the problem.

Here is an example :

http://www.skilltoys.net/board/showflat....#Post4392243920

43920 is the first post in the thread, and 43922 is the newest post in the thread.

Thanks for any help!

Grahame

I'm confused..where are you seeing this? Since the "new" post tracking only works for cookied users, you wouldn't see the problem, correct?

Yes, it would since anons don't track what the last read post was. I'm guessing this is a problem with a variable being concatenated rather than overwritten, but I can't find where.

Check the Garbage Pail forum. I'm making several posts in there which should be new to you.

This only happens on the postlist page, when you click on the thread name. It doesn't happen on the main index where the last post is shown next to each forum...

It was a user that reported the problem in the first place....I will keep looking, just trying to find out how that number is constructed as part of the URL...seems to be the $postrow[$i]['Number'] in the postlist.tmpl file. I'll trace that back through postlist.php to find out where it's set.

Well I fixed it....

The line in Postlist.php used to read :
Code
<br /><a href="{$config['phpurl']}/$mode.php?Cat=$Cat&amp;Number={$postrow[$i]['Number']}&amp;page=$page&amp;view=$view&amp;sb=$sb&amp;o=$o&amp;fpart={$postrow[$i]['fpart']}{$postrow[$i]['jumper']}#{$postrow[$i]['Number']}"><br />

I changed it to read :

Code
<br /><a href="{$config['phpurl']}/$mode.php?Cat=$Cat&amp;Number={$postrow[$i]['Number']}&amp;page=$page&amp;view=$view&amp;sb=$sb&amp;o=$o&amp;fpart={$postrow[$i]['fpart']}{$postrow[$i]['jumper']}"><br />

Thanks for your help....

Sorry, I meant I edited that line in postlist.tmpl. How would that patch affect those other functions?
