I have an SQL query saved to do that to everyone, but I think it would just be easier to have it set so that all new users have the sidebar set to 1 (i.e. left). Also, since this is editing the same script, how do I make the default index for all new users categories and not forums?

I got this from Josh when I asked [] The easiest way - I know you have something like phpMyAdmin
Open up phpMyadmin and look at the users table. Edit the U_Sidebar field. The default should be 0. Change the default for it from 0 to either 1 or 2 (left or right) then all new records will have that default. [/]
I also removed the option to turn it off from the editdisplay template.

Thanks. I had edited the template, but I didn't have a way to make all users have this on. I'll give this a whirl
