I get several messages every day like the following.
What can I do or tell them. I am a bit frustrated of just saying "delete your cookies and try again"

[] Problem Details:
I am registered. When I login it takes me to the first screen. Then when I click on Main Menu to go to see the other forums available it says I am logged off.

Please let me know what I need to do to fix this.
[/]

[] I just cant log in I hit the login button then it says my name and my profile settings but I go to click on the tabs and it says again I must login?

Either their firewall or Internet Security Software (Norton) is blocking them from accepting cookies from your site - or their computer's date and time is wrong.

If people have security/privacy settings too high, they won't be able to use the board without either lowering those settings or adding your site to their list of "trusted sites".

The UBB.Threads section of this is what will probably help most the users having trouble:

An additional note, make sure that they are not going to yourdomain.com. If your config file says www.yourdomain.com and they login at yourdomain.com, they're cookies won't be valid as they are seen as different domains...from a cookie standpoint.

I had the same problem. In php.ini set
Code
<br /> session.auto_start = 1<br />

The Discussion

I was working on another project were I had to set auto start to 0 and this started to occur.

Also check these settings if auto start is already set to 1
Code
<br />session.bug_compat_42 = 1<br />session.bug_compat_warn = 1<br />

And maybe your sessiondata directory does not have proper permissions

Kind regards,
PaNTerSan
