Hey Guys. I am curious. Is there a way in Threads 6.4.2 to do a MASS thread move. I am looking to combine two forums I have into one and moving about 1000 of them from one to another is going to be a very tedious process. ANy suggestions or scripts would be helpful.

Mass Move is built into 6.5. No more hacking it in.

Yes, basically you just need to use the "Move Topics" feature. This will allow you to move all posts from one/many forums to a target forum.

Ahhh I see.

you guys are saying forums meaning other forums on the same board....
I was actually thinking it was to combine a forum from one board to another.

A few months ago I reset the forums and started fresh because of a change in the direction of the forum to an all gaming one. Well, I have all the post and everything intact on a subdomain but it is not live. its only for "holding" the information. (a few thousand posts.)

I was waiting for something that would take thoses posts and add them to the forums that are live now. But all hope is lost....

You could use the importer to import the old board into the new one...

I believe its one of those built into 6.5 things.
.
.
.
But, I heard the other day that 6.5 has been canceled...but then I read that Joshpet has been canceled as well, so that may not be the most accurate info in the world.

Well, when I click on the importer this is what I get,
"No file with a .yaml extension was found in your /home/*******/public_html/imports directory. The YAML file is required to import any data."

and what is a .yaml?

I'd point you at the docs, but they're amazingly not ready yet.

Basically, you take a CSV dump of your tables, put them in the "imports" directory, along with a Import Spec File, then run the import.

Right now, the UBB.threads spec file only works for a version 6.4 database, FYI. Also note that only topics/posts, users, forums, and categories are imported. Nothing else.

It is built into 6.5, yes. We haven't canceled 6.5 ... yet, but we are trying to get as many vacation as as Josh has.

Why, navaho did, of course. Don't worry, I've been cancelled as well.
