UBB.Developers Forums UBB.threads 7 Development How Do I? 6.4 -> 6.5b4 Language Issue

When I upgraded my forums to 6.5b4 everything went smoothly. Except for those who were using the UK English language file.

I deleted all language files expect for US English. Now, some users are getting the following message:

Warning: main(languages/english_uk/ubbthreads.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/flighta/public_html/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php on line 24.

...even after they clear all cookies from their computer. Funny thing is that I can successfully log in under their usernames without any issues at all.

Any ideas?

You need to update everyone back to english

UPDATE w3t_Users
SET U_Language = 'english'


Because 6.5 only comes with one language.

Hi Josh, thanks. I'm not familiar with running commands and 6.5b4 doesn't offer the ability from the control panel. Would you mind telling me how? I have access to the phpmyadmin on my server. And how does that explain how I can become the user and not get the error messages? They have (supposedly) cleared their cookies.

Should have nothing to do with cookies - if they have a different language selected - 6.5 only comes with English.

Database commands are done the same way. The menu is just categorized a bit differently:

Control Panel -> Database Tools -> SQL Command.

Enter the command in the box. I think that'll solve your problem.

Okay, thanks. What was confusing for me was that I could "become this user" (a user with the language error msg) and not run into the same problem. That's why I thought it was a cookie issue. I ran the sql command and the reply was "4315 row(s) affected by your query."
