Version 6.4.4

Is there a way to turn off or block out the views and replies feature in a particular forum?

I'd like one of my forums to be read only to users and doesn't display the views or replies feature.

Thanks

The first way that comes to mind is using an IF statement based off the keyword of the forum.

You could do this in the postlist template and basically negate or comment out those table columns.

Since I am a newbie is it just possible to block out the words Views and Replies. It is a read only forum.

Not for a specific forum if using that method.

Simple, make a copy of the current header and footer, use them in the proper forums. Then add this to the copies of the new header.

<style type="text/css">

.do-not-display {
display: none;

}

</style>

Then add this to each required tag.

<span class="do-not-display">$tag</span>

This hides it from general view, however it will show in the source code.

This sounds like it will do exactly what I am looking for. I can add the information in the header, but where is the tag?

Either in showflat.tmpl or postlist.tmpl, it depends on what page you want to remove em from.
