I believe I will be jumping in to this today. Can i restrict this so only certain user groups have access to use it but everyone can view it?

Absolutely.

You can use your existing UBB.Threads groups and "import" them into Photopost - then customize what each group should be doing.

you don't have to. Just select threads as your forum in photopost it autmatically converts over.

no when you install photopost make sure UBBT is installed prior.. then in the install stage tell it to use threads as your forum.

my UBBTHreads dir is /ubbthreads

should I unzip PhotoPost to that directory ie;
/Ubbthreads/PhotoPost

or put it in the webroot
/photopost

or unzip it to match the threads directories, images go in threads/images etc?

yes you should create a seperate database for photopost.. I have seperate databases for ubbt, photopost, quizshock, hamweather. I never install apps into the same database, makes moving them a nightmare and seperating them a mess.. heck some even have the same or similar table names. read the photopost instructions it will walk you through the installation..

If you really want, you can install Photopost in the same database as UBB.Threads. It does work, I have done it both ways.

But I believe the preferred method is to install them in separate databases.

I had to use the same Database because my host only allows one database per renter so I go around it by using ppst_ for the table prefix instead of w3t. At least I know which is which now.

I have the Total PhotoPost Integration Mod installed as well and everything seems to look good. Do I just add a link to the PhotoPost index to my Language file and I am done?

*edit* one slight error in my admin/config panel the stylesheet is working for the menus except every other line is black instead of the default color so I cant read the text *edit*

thats telling you that for the user phoenix the table pp_usergroups does not exist in the ubb database. can you use PhPMyAdmin and check if it is?

thats cause the stylesheet you are using most likely has a dark (black) background color for alternatetable tag.. you have a couple of options... change the stylesheet, change the alternatetable tag in the stylesheet, or in adm-options.php in the photopost directory find

if ($proceed == 1) {
if ( $fillcolor == 1) {
$ckcolor = "{$Style['alternatetable']}";
$fillcolor=0;
}
else {
$ckcolor = "{$Style['tddetails']}";
$fillcolor=1;
}

and change to

if ($proceed == 1) {
if ( $fillcolor == 1) {
$ckcolor = "{$Style['tddetails']}";
$fillcolor=0;
}
else {
$ckcolor = "{$Style['tddetails']}";
$fillcolor=1;
}

btw thats really a photopost question and really should be directed over to www.photopost.com.

yes but the photopost is trying to use the pp_usergroups table..

is this in your install or when you look at the photopost page? under photpost you must have

User Registration System set to threads
the uder database table prefix set to w3t_

send me a PM with an act that I can look at on your system. easiest is to send me a url link and for you to create a user called threadsdev with a password of threadsdev with admin rights so I can putter around then change it back to user only rights after I am done. shoot me a PM.
