I just noticed that in the control panel that the avatar settings are set to allow only 80 x 80 in size, max. but some are using 90 x 90 and it les them?
did I miss a bug fix?

What mods you have installed? I know with my shop mod it allows for 150x150..

I removed the shop mod but I still have some traces left. the "members list" still shows the glowing and highlighted names  ill have to go over the shop mod again to make sure I removed all the files

When avatars are uploaded - the sizes are stored. So if you changed the size limits, that only applies to new avatars. They will get resized if they re-upload.
