Quick scenario: you get a dedicated server and should be offered say a P4 with 1GB RAM all for your own use.
1. How do you check the processor/mem specs? Can you do this via the WHM?
2. How can you make sure that nobody else is being put on your server (via WHM)?

1. Yes, you can view server specifics in WHM.
2. Make sure you've got root access, and not a reseller account. With a root WHM login you'll see all the accounts on the server. You also can look in /home and see if there are any other accounts there.

Thanks, Josh! Will give it a shot tomorrow when the new server arrives. How specific can the details be? Will I be able to verify that the ram is EEC memory and that the HDD is a fast 7200 RPM drive? Or are we talking basic specs just like when you load up Windows on a home PC?

OK, seems to work fine. How do I check /home though? Can this be done using WHM?

No you'll have to go in via ssh as root.
Then type
cd /home
then type
ls
There shouldn't be any accounts in there that you don't have in WHM.
