I'm trying to figure out how to add a "thread spacer" in between topics in expanded view. I don't really like the double-colors that separate topics. My last forum was true threaded and I was able to do a little mod that allowed me to separate topics using a horizontal rule.

But being new to PHP forums, I don't really know where to start. Can anybody help?

Thanks.

Can you provide an example? Either way your effords should concentrate on the showthreaded.tmpl and perhaps showthreaded.php

Thanks for replying - I ended up figuring it out. I modified the PostList.tmpl and PostList.php.

Sure, but remember that this forum is not yet public, so it's still in "setup" mode. It's very messy yet, but you can see the Topic spacers.

I can't take the credit for it, as my husband figured it out for me. We're happy to share it, but we are not coders by any means - we just try stuff until it works.

My husband says that it isn't something simple that he can tell you to do - he had to insert a table in the message area of postlist.tmpl with its own definitions for cell number, table layout, border settings etc. If you just want the code he put in the postlist.php that's ok, but it would look funny without the modifications to the postlist.tmpl file. Plus he's still diddling with it.

Let me know if you still want it. Like I said, we are no experts, so it would be at your own risk.

Cheers!

How did you script your menu, the main one where options drop down as you mouse over them? Very slick!
