What does this mean, and what's the recommended time setting? I'm using 6.5.

This is the time before cookies expire.
This number is in seconds - if you set this for 2 weeks (172800 seconds I think) then cookies would be deleted after 2 weeks. So even the members who check "remember me" - after 2 weeks from when they got their cookies, they will have to relogin and get new cookies.
I guess it's kind of a security thing so that users have to re-login every once and a while. I usually leave the default, which I think is a year.

Ok, thanks for replying Josh. I'm just having all sorts of problems which I suspect are cookie related. I wasn't sure what that Cookie Expiration thing meant, if it was contributing, and what I should have entered. But mine is set for a year too. I guess I can rule that out.

If you have a lot of forums, there are issues with 6.5 with cookie sizes getting too big and getting dumped, they should have that resolved in 6.5.1.
